Today is a cold, grey Sunday.
I am thankful for a warm robe to wear while I am painting.
I am thankful for my laptop which makes it easy to play around.
I am thankful I don't have to get outside unless I want to, and I don't...it's too cold!
I am thankful that my Christmas is almost all bought, and I have time today to wrap presents.
I am thankful tomorrow is Monday and I get to go paint!

Sooner Saturday

I am grateful to be a Sooner today, and hope that the Cowboys are awed by us tonight.
I am grateful that I have a house full of grandkids and kids today.
I am grateful that I don't have to cook a lot today, eating TexMex for lunch and Subway is planned for tonight.
I am grateful that my grandkids think I am fun to be around.
I am grateful that we got such a good family picture today.

Thanksgiving Day

Well, this is easy.
I am thankful my whole family is here with us.
I am thankful the stove didn't need to be replaced, just the fuse.
I am thankful my daughter found my diamond earring in her bathroom...that saved me about $250 to replace it!
I am thankful for such good food. I didn't go hungry all day.
I am thankful that Princess Leia is such a good dog. The grandkids love her.

Happy Thanksgiving

This is the time of year for giving thanks. It is a time to remember what we are grateful for, and take gratitude in what we have in our lives.
You know, this is something we should do daily. If these truisms hold: You are what you eat; Choose friends wisely, you become who they are; Don't worry, be happy -- then it is also true that if you focus on what is right and wonderful in your life, then you will become a more peaceful, happy human being.
I won't go as far as being a "secret seeker"... person who believes that if you think it then it will come...but I do believe that happy thoughts make happy people.
And this has been a season of mean spirited, hateful talk on television, in communities, and across the nation. So it seems more important to me that I make sure to focus on what is going really right in my life daily.
My hope is to write daily, giving five things that I am grateful for. I haven't been that good on journals in the past, but I am really good at reading my email every day! So blogging my gratitudes seems like a possible success.
With that, here I go...
I am grateful for Faith Hill's chocolate cake recipe. It smelled so delicious today when I was making it. I hope it becomes a family favorite.
I am grateful for Roberta, who taught me how to make homemade noodles. They are really fun to make and I feel like a successful cook when I have them rolled and cut, and cooking in chicken broth.
I am grateful for an income that makes it possible for us to buy a new washer dryer when ours started leaving rust spots on our clothes. I cannot imagine having to go to the laundromat every time I needed to wash something. This is just a luxury I normally take for granted!
I am grateful that I have time to get ready for Thanksgiving and relax! Being old enough for retirement has it's upside.
I am thankful for paint. It is my saving grace when it comes to a relaxing, peaceful day.
